Chong Sui Wei is a charter member, Chief Executive Officer and a Governor of the International Institute of Enterprise Risk Practitioners (IERP®), the premier International Enterprise Risk Management certification body based in London. She is also the Executive Director for Friday Concepts (International), an International Enterprise Risk Management, BCM, Governance, Risk Management and Compliance as well as Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CFT) boutique consultancy which is also the sister company of the IERP®. Sui Wei is also a Director in a Technology start up company dealing with GRC software and was instrumental in the development of the software products and accompanying technology and strategy for the company.
Sui Wei possesses significant consulting (implementation and facilitation experience) in ERM/GRC and Strategic Risk Management across numerous and diverse corporates in Malaysia and recently on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CFT). They includes enterprise risk management in banks, insurance companies, oil and gas companies, telcos and various other large GLCs, SEDCs and PLCs, establishing Halal manufacturing companies and businesses from scratch, including brand advisory, product development, developing sales and marketing strategies and plans (including licensing, telesales and social media strategies), customer service, corporate strategies, and other related management consulting advice.
Sui Wei holds a Bachelor of Business Organisation with Finance degree from Heriot Watt University in the UK, is a Qualified Risk Director, certified Enterprise Risk Manager and is also a Certified Financial Planner as well as a qualified Islamic Financial Planner. In addition to that, she holds the distinction of being amongst the pioneer batch of financial planners granted the Capital Markets Services License by the Securities Commission of Malaysia in 2004, as well as the Proprietor of Wealth Concepts Consultancy – one of the pioneer fee based Financial Planning Advisory firms in Malaysia. She is a founding member of the Ampang Chapter of Business Network International (BNI). Sui Wei has also been a member of the National Association of Women Entrepreneurs in Malaysia (NAWEM) since 2002 and, in 2005, was shortlisted for the Malaysian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award. She has been regularly featured as a financial expert advisor in the Personal Money magazines and the Financial Edge dailies between 2008 and 2013, as well as in Focus Malaysia between 2015 and 2017.
Sui Wei started her career with MBf Group’s Financial Institutions Division specialising in Enterprise Funding and gaining experience in Credit Appraisal and Management, Loan and Financial Restructuring and Management, Loan Recovery, and Financial and Cash Flow Management. She was also involved in advising and helping companies to restructure their financial affairs through assessment of cash flow and financial statements, business environment and industry, analyzing loan structure and composition, analyzing loan repayment, as well as their credit and collection policies.
Sui Wei was also involved in educating various corporations on credit management techniques which included setting up and implementing credit screening and credit control procedures, analyzing and interpreting credit information, credit referencing, credit and collection records, credit evaluation, etc. She also assisted her clients in the sourcing and negotiating of more effective financing options and packages.
Following that, Sui Wei began specialising in the Financial Planning Industry with extensive experience in Risk Assessment and Financial Advisory work. The scope of her work here includes utilising her extensive experience in advising her clients on the evaluation of the various financial products available. Sui Wei is involved in delivering and co-ordinating the delivery of Islamic Financial Planning and Islamic Finance (including Re-structuring) consulting and training regionally.
