YM Dr Tunku Alina Alias

Dr Tunku Alina Alias serves as independent director on the boards of three public listed companies IJM Corporation Berhad,  Batu Kawan Berhad, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad and a bank, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad.

She is also the Chair of JA Russell & Co Sdn Bhd a family business with global interests in tea plantations, FMCG and agribusiness. In these boards, she chairs or is a member of the Audit, Risk Management, Nomination, Remuneration and Governance Committees.

She volunteers as advisor with UNGCB Network (Malaysia/Brunei) and as mentor with Endeavor (a start-up/scale-up ecosystem), Leadwomen and the 30% Club, both of which advocate and support women leadership in the corporate world.

Alina is passionate about corporate sustainability and climate change related issues and is presently a guest speaker in ICDM’s Mandatory Accreditation Program I for directors, to speak on these matters.  She is a lawyer, by profession, a certified mediator and holds a doctorate in philosophy in the field of Islamic Finance.
