Syed Mohammed Idid

Tuan Syed Mohammed Idid is General Manager, Strategic Communications & Stakeholder Engagement at West Coast Expressway Sdn Bhd, with more than 38 years of experience in journalism, corporate communications, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, reputation management and crisis communications.

Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles at PLUS Malaysia Berhad, Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia, Standard Chartered Bank and strategic communications consultancies. At WCE, he leads the company’s communications, media relations, government affairs, ESG communications and public engagement, while championing data-driven and AI-enabled communication strategies.

He was named IABC APAC Senior Communicator of the Year 2025 (Executive Leader) and is an AI Advocate and ASEAN Digital Literacy Master Trainer. A respected speaker, lecturer and mentor, he actively promotes stronger collaboration between industry and academia to develop future-ready communication professionals.
