Dr. Wong Lai Yong

Dr. Wong Lai Yong is a board director, facilitator, and catalyst for human-centered sustainability. She bridges Eastern and Western perspectives to advance governance and leadership practices where sustainability, risk, and human wellbeing are deeply interconnected.

As an independent director on two century-old Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed companies, the first woman and foreigner in these roles, she offers insights on embedding sustainability risks and wellbeing into organizational decision-making. She also serves as Adjunct Associate Professor at Shizenkan University in Tokyo and Honorary Advisor to the ESG Association of Malaysia.
