Dzafri is an independent Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) consultant who continues to advocateRisk Management as a powerful management tool in advancing business survival amid an unpredictable global landscape.
He brings over 30 years of experience serving the Oil & Gas industry with niche expertise in driving Operational Excellence. His expertise includesProject and Asset management as well as in Enterprise Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) management including Sustainable Development (SD).
He was theVice President (VP) of PETRONAS’ Group Health, Safety, Security and Environment (GHSSE) from November 2016 to June 2021 playing a pivotal role in steering the formulation of PETRONAS’s Four Sustainability Lenses, Net Zero Carbon Emission Framework and its Non-FinancialDisclosure practices, essentially, a pacesetter for the industry in Malaysia and Asia. He advanced PETRONAS’ SD fundamentals by strengthening organizational SD governance, policies and capabilities to better orchestrate groupwide SD initiatives at Business Units, Corporate and national levels.
He held various senior positions in the PETRONAS Group including as General Manager, Gas Processing Plant Complex-A of PETRONAS Gas Bhd, Kerteh from 2008 until 2011; Senior General Manager of Plant Division, Malaysia LNG Group of Companies, Bintulu from 2012 until 2014; and Vice President & Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia LNG Group of Companies from 2015 until March 2016 before being appointed as Vice President of LNG Assets, Upstream from April until October 2016.
He has helmed position of Chairman and Directorship at several PETRONAS’ Group of Companies, including as Director of PETRONAS CarigaliSdn Bhd. He also represented PETRONAS as Non-Independent and Non-Executive Director in Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad from 2015 to 2021.
